It's the start of a new season
Time for competition to be given a new reason.
Its indoor track time, and I thought I'd be ready
But when I began to run my knees were a bit unsteady.
I ignored it for a few days,
Until the pain was unbearable, then I went to see what the trainer says.
He said I have a syndrome called ITB.
Where the IT band rubs against and irritates the knee.
The trainer gave me many stretches to do.
He said they should make my knee feel like new.
So I rolled my knee out, stretched it with my resistance band.
I did this for about a week, and after my knee felt grand.
So I went back to practice after a week of rest.
It was a slow start, but at least the pain had recessed.
I will keep making progress,
As the season gets less and less.

"Rushing to Get Good Grades"
The end of the marking period is coming.
All this work is getting numbing.
I was panicking about my grades.
I am so done with these charades.
It was time for me to buckle down and pick up the slack,
Because I did not want to be a sad sack.
I would not accept anything below a B.
And right now I am working with two C's.
I went to my teachers and asked what could be done.
This was not going to be fun.
I worked long and hard for many days.
I believe it deserved some praise.
And when the time came to see what I got,
It was just as I thought.
I got my grades up and everything was swell.
I did so well I wanted to yell.
All this work is getting numbing.

"Winning Spirit Week!!"
We did it, we finally did it.
We had to work a bit,
But it was all worth it in the end.
Now we are the ones to contend.
Spirit Week is ours.
We waited 2 years and worked for many hours.
We tried our very best,
And we have now completed our quest.
We participated everyday,
Not caring what other grades had to say.
Then we did our cheer,
That in the eyes of our competition I believe I saw fear.
We finally obtained that stupid plastic trophy,
That to us meant so much more.
We are the champions, and only in our teens.
We are the Seniors, class of 2013.

"The First Day of My Epic Senior Year"
It was my last first day of high school.
But this is the year where we rule.
I am finally a senior,
And I would be graduating this year.
There was so much to look forward to.
Like homecoming and who to ask to prom, maybe Sue.
And Spirit Week, hopefully we'll win.
And I'm happy to be partaking in this journey with one of my kin.
Now back to my first day.
I saw all my friends and heard what they had to say.
Went through all my classes with the utmost delight.
Hopefully none would would put up a fight.
Then I went to my last first cross country practice.
I tried to run with at least some fastness.
After that I began my walk home with no fear.
It was a great day and I was ready to start my Epic Senior Year
